Australia : Meandering in Tasmania’s Tarkine

Six days in a North West Tasmanian rainforest, on wild beaches, motoring down the Pieman River (named after famous pastry chef, Marcus Clark, otherwise known as a long-term jail bird), walking through burnt out country, was an introduction to the state’s latest environment stoush, but mostly to wonderment at wild places. Mind you, I’ve heard of people who go home after a day because they can’t stand the silence, the lack of urban drama. Thanks to Tarkine Trails who have eco-sustainability writ all over their eco-business. More thoughts coming.
